America was never a nation under any god. That was a misconception created during the communist scare in the 50s when “in god we trust” was added to the money and “under god” to the pledge. That divided a once indivisible nation.

The atheists nowadays are just trying to turn America back onto the path it strayed from

That is so very true. The founding fathers would never have stood for “in God we trust” or “nation under God”.

I always disliked this picture, why did they depict the godless person as a tattooed bar tender?? I think there is a hidden meaning trying to be conveyed.. the Atheist is the evil person serving up mind altering substances to the helpless believers.. The reality is that Atheists are the ones trying to get the religious people OFF the mind altering delusions of the supernatural!!
I would love to see this image reversed.. several religious nuts trying to push their brand of B.S. on to the only rational person in the room!!

the study says more people identify themselves as atheists, but then it shows that they actually identify themselves as non-religious. you can be a theist without religion, and you can be an atheist with religion. hell, you can even be a christian atheist.

at any rate, i’m an non-religious atheist, but just a little baffled at how narrow the survey seems to be.

Take a close look and you’ll see that the waitress looks just like “Hotlips” Hoolahan from “MASH”- only with black hair. She looks disgusted. Yeah, I’m sure I’d be disgusted having to serve all these people who believe in different fairy tales. The waitress is likely the only sane one – with or without tattoos. Just like the religious right to start making atheists appear as weirdoes just because they have tattoos. We need a picture showing all the gang members who have some religious tattoo and/or a crucifix around their neck. Understand what bigotry is!
