At the slaughter house, a cow is shot in the skull. It’s no different and very humane compared to how people believe it happens in a slaughter house.We own 300 beef cattle and used to own pigs. all they do is shoot them in the head. they die right away. the executioners are trained specially and told where the correct place to shoot them is as to not cause any suffering. now a place that keeps thousands of chickens is very unsafe for both the animal and humans and i admit should not exist at all for it’s cruelness.

Oh…& by the way, my Peruvian (born & raised) friend explained to me that the guinea pigs are killed (in the back yard) by putting their two front teeth on a rock & smashing the back of their heads. Their own front teeth break backward into their skull.

Gross yes…but also quick, efficient & probably somewhat unexpected/less fear for the animal. Better situation for the animal than a slaughter house.

Just sayin…

Meat – noun
1.the flesh of animals as used for food….

If you eat meat, you are eating dead animal muscles.

I propose the following:
-People don’t need to eat animals to survive, be healthy, be smart, or be happy.

-Many people believe that there are only two choices on meat eating: 1)being vegetarian OR 2)consuming meat every meal/day. There are more choices than that; it’s not black or white. Every meal is a decision.

-If imagining killing or preparing meat, or eating meat from animals that you are not accustomed to eating is disgusting, such as Guinea pigs, cats, dogs, monkeys, whales, etc. maybe you should consider that you are thinking from a personal cultural perspective. Killing and eating any animal has a similar nature.

-If you choose to eat meat, choosing animals who have been treated fairly and killed humanely will improve the quality of the meat, your health, and the earth.

I’m peruvian and it’s my culture to eat Guinea Pigs. I prefer not to but it doesn’t mean it’s cruel or disgusting. It’s a way we are raised. At least our guinea pigs are treated right, feed right and cared for compared to the meat in the US, where the cows are raised in factories and practically dead when they are born. So to those ignorant people saying it’s gross and disgusting… it’s not. My world is better in health and the treatment of animals of 100 % better then Americans cause if you compare the meat here, it’s actually the most disgusting meat in the world and you’re eating it.

I agree cuy are better treated than most food animals in the US and that this is a cultural practice, but that doesn’t make killing and eating cuy NOT cruel! There are people who think it’s cruel to cause suffering to any animal when it can be avoided. They’re called vegetarians or vegans.

Horrible to read the replies of people who think this is ‘gross’ or ‘cruel’. It’s not.
How far you all have removed yourselves from your food. Meat is ok, but not if you can see if it’s from an animal. Really sickening.
